5 LIFE LESSONS TO LEARN FROM COVID19 OUTBREAK

A few weeks ago, many of us were busy working hard, some of us waiting for appraisals, some of us planning for a summer vacation ahead and a lot more things. But then life happened. Here we are, sitting in our houses, working from home, living life Corona Virus wants us to live. I and Leticia are not even in the same house and don’t know until when we have to stay this way. The death toll across the world is increasing and numbers of infected are just soaring every day.

Among all this chaos, like a silver lining, I found many positives. In this article below, I will share the life lessons to learn from COVID19 outbreak, which really made me reflect a lot about my existence and I am sure you would relate with the same too.

  1. Importance of friends & family.
  2. Appreciate and respect Mother Nature
  3. Value your ” Me Time”
  4. About “The Power of Giving”
  5. Plan Ahead but Enjoy your present.

IMPORTANCE OF FRIENDS & FAMILY

Many of us are not staying with our parents. Or if we stay with them, we hardly spend time with them apart from weekends. Some of us travel a lot for work. Or are even living far away from the family and loved ones. This Quarantine time has definitely given us a breather and has finally have given us that time where we could cook, watch TV, even play games together with our families. Or to catch up with our long lost friends whom we haven’t talked to, in the last few months or even years.

I don’t know, but it has really made me realise that sometimes it’s good to slow down and enjoy our lives with our loved ones. It’s our friends who can get us through the tough times.

APPRECIATE AND RESPECT MOTHER NATURE

This is the most positive thing which happened due to Quarantine in my opinion. We are currently in India, a country which is extremely populated and has a high level of pollution in almost all cities. Because of lockdown, these days I was able to see the sky very clearly, the stars and chirping of the birds was the only sound around.
Around the globe, there was news mentioning how the pollution levels have gone down, how the Venice canals are having dolphins swimming in the waters.
I think this Corona Virus outbreak is a good time for all of us, to rethink our actions and start caring more about our nature and invest our time and make our kids and families start appreciating nature.
So far COVID19 is proving what several celebs have mentioned on their twitter
“CORONA IS NOT THE VIRUS, IT’S A VACCINE. WE ARE THE VIRUS”

IMPORTANCE OF “ME TIME”

Several studies have shown that “Me” time is very very important for our personal and professional growth. If you don’t prioritise “me” time then you’ll feel more exhausted, more run down and more rushed. Being constantly under pressure will increase your stress levels. And it eventually burns you out. One must take time out to unwind, rejuvenate and be more productive.
Staying home and working can be really stressful, so it makes it even more important we utilise this time for ourselves.
In fact, in quarantine, we all must dedicate a few hours of our day to do something which makes us happy, which bring out our creativity.

THE POWER OF GIVING

In our recent article, we already talked about how you can still help from home. You can make this world a better place to live by, in 6 ways. In this COVID-19 outbreak, what I have learned is that nothing but the power of giving and helping others can make you feel good.
We have donated to our partner NGO based in Jaipur, to help the migrant labourers in our city. We have supported almost 1000 people with the help of our friends. And this has given us hope. And has shown us the power of giving is eternal.
So yes, it’s a perfect time to invest your efforts and money to help the ones who need it right now. Not everyone is blessed to have a house and things in the house to live with.

PLAN AHEAD BUT ENJOY YOUR PRESENT

I believe our society has become a society so enamoured with planning. We often too much talk of building for the future but what about building for the now? We all desire genuine happiness, and in order to manifest this joy, we have to live presently. Too much focus on the future often leads to stress and negative thinking. A lot of our friends are worried about their jobs, their future goals. A lot of news channels are talking about how bad this Quarantine will be for the economies.
But is this really in our control now? Can we really turn back the time? Of course not. But can we focus on ourselves, and our present right now? Yeah.
My biggest learning from this quarantine is to give present much more importance than worrying about the future. Understand that plans don’t always turn out as expected.
Enjoying present moments with the family, sharing gratitude, that you are blessed to have a good life and are safe. Value your relations, work on your skills and enhance them in this time. Don’t let negative thoughts to hover in your present worrying about your future. Accept the present for what it is and be grateful.
The moment you have right now is the biggest gift. Enjoy less anxiety by relishing the moment.
